Or you can continue reading here for the whole wheat version.

Why oh why have all of my posts lately been about baking? Maybe something about the cold weather just makes me want to have fresh, warm dinner treats. During the summer it’s so easy to grab a quick snack of veggies or fruit, but the winter garden doesn’t offer such easy access. So bear with me for a few more months and enjoy these easy DIY recipes for some made-from-scratch goodness that’ll warm your belly.

I admit that from my list of easy-to-replicate-store-bought-items this doesn’t rank the highest. They do take a little bit of time and work, but only because each tortilla needs to be individually hand rolled. For me an excursion that is worth the work every once in a while, so this would be something that I would be willing to make on a day off and have stored in the fridge throughout the week.

This generally goes without saying, but the recipe that I used does not taste like anything you buy in a store. The wheat offers a completely different taste and texture than any wrap I’ve ever had before. If you’re looking for a stand-in for store-bought tortillas I’m not sure this is the way to go, but if you’re looking for a delicious but healthy medium to house your sandwiches then I recommend giving these guys a go.
